Recently, Pekka Manninen, the Director of Science and Technology at CSC, Finland, revealed that LUMI, Europe’s fastest and most energy-efficient supercomputer, is now fully ready for European scientific research.
In conjunction with that news, we are pleased to share that we will host a EuroHPC session at ISC 2023.
Greetings, and welcome to a brand new year that brings new opportunities!
Over the multi-year campaign to move from petascale HPC to the first generation of exascale systems, we have seen a slowdown in the performance growth rate of systems across the board. Whereas in the past, we have become used to a cadence of 10-11 years for each 1000x improvement in LINPACK measured performance, the new projections plot a growth rate of 10x every ten years as measured by LINPACK.
We are pleased to announce that Eric Schnepf, the former Distinguished Engineer and Lead Solution Architect for HPC and AI at Fujitsu Central Europe, has joined us as the Senior Advisor for program development. His focus will be to develop the ISC High Performance conference further to suit the needs of the scientific and engineering community.
